As power levels increased and brushless systems became more common, the limitations of the stock Maxx differential became increasingly apparent. To address this, we invested significant time in research, development, testing, and real-world abuse to create a differential system capable of handling the demands of today’s high-powered trucks.
The result is the SuperMaxx 7.5 Differential Conversion Kit—a robust, race-proven solution built around full 1/8-scale differential gears and an eight-spider gear design for exceptional strength and reliability.

Premium Construction
The UltraLite differential housing is precision machined from premium 7075-T6 billet aircraft aluminum and polished to a high-luster natural finish.
Every component was selected to maximize durability while minimizing weight, resulting in a differential system capable of handling extreme power levels without sacrificing performance.
T-Maxx and E-Maxx Compatible
The kit is designed to work with both T-Maxx and E-Maxx platforms.
Because the E-Maxx utilizes the ring gear on the opposite side of the differential compared to the T-Maxx, the housing is clearly marked to ensure proper ring gear orientation during assembly. Proper installation is critical and eliminates the need to reverse motor or transmission rotation.
Driveline Compatibility
Compatible with:
- Unlimited Engineering CV shafts
- MIP CV shafts
Please note:
- Stock plastic slider shafts are not compatible.
- Dynamite and XTM shaft lengths may require modification.
- XTM center shafts will not fit the supplied pinion drive cup.
- An XTM center shaft conversion kit is available separately.
Gear Ratio Information
The 7.5 differential utilizes a different ring-and-pinion ratio than the stock Maxx differential:
- Stock Maxx Ratio: 2.85:1
- 7.5 Differential Ratio: 3.31:1
Because of the ratio change, both front and rear differentials must be upgraded at the same time. Mixing stock and 7.5 ratios is not recommended and will result in drivetrain damage.
As a general reference:
- 22/72 gearing with stock differentials is approximately equivalent to 23/65 gearing with the 7.5 differential setup.
Lubrication Requirements
Lubricants are not included.
Due to the wide range of differential tuning preferences available through various silicone oil viscosities, users are free to select the differential fluid that best suits their application.
A premium-quality grease is recommended for the ring-and-pinion gears to ensure maximum life and smooth operation.
Precision Setup Required
Like full-size automotive differentials, the 7.5 Differential Conversion Kit uses precision gears that require proper setup for optimal performance and longevity.
Detailed instructions are included, and careful attention to gear mesh, shimming, and assembly procedures will ensure smooth operation and long service life.
Future Upgrade Path
For users who want the strength of the UltraLite housing while continuing to use stock differential gears, an adapter kit is available separately, allowing stock gearsets to be installed in the UltraLite case.
