Razorback – The Beginning of the Big Block Race Truck

The Razorback marked the beginning of the big block race truck era at Unlimited Engineering.

Only a dozen chassis were produced, but they quickly became known as the “Dirty Dozen” because every one of them was raced hard and hammered within an inch of its life. They weren’t garage queens—they were built to compete, and they brought home plenty of trophies along the way.

The Razorback pioneered the use of a big block engine coupled to a center differential two-speed drivetrain, creating a combination that delivered incredible acceleration, exceptional durability, and race-winning performance. Combined with the rest of the Unlimited Engineering product line, the result was a truck that was both brutally fast and tough as nails.

Many of the concepts proven on the Razorback would influence Unlimited Engineering designs for years to come, making it one of the most important trucks in the company’s history.

BUILD SPECIFICATIONS

  • Unlimited Engineering Razorback Chassis – The chassis that launched the big block race truck movement and served as the foundation for the legendary “Dirty Dozen.”
  • Unlimited Engineering Victory Bulkless System (VBS) Pro Kit with Titanium Skids – Provides exceptional drivetrain strength while eliminating many of the weaknesses found in conventional bulkhead designs.
  • Unlimited Engineering RacerX Suspension Pro Kit – Long-travel suspension engineered to provide exceptional durability, control, and race-winning performance.
  • Unlimited Engineering Generation 4 Servo Saver – Heavy-duty steering protection designed to withstand the punishment generated by oversized tires and extreme power.
  • Unlimited Engineering 8mm Axle CVDs – Massive driveline components designed to reliably transfer big block power to the ground.
  • Unlimited Engineering 17mm Wheel Hexes – Clamping wheel hex system that prevents the hex from pulling off with the wheel while providing secure wheel retention.
  • Unlimited Engineering Prototype Next-Generation Shocks – The latest evolution in suspension development, providing exceptional damping control and durability.
  • Big Block Racing Engine – The heart of the Razorback, delivering the torque and horsepower necessary to dominate on the racetrack.
  • Center Differential Two-Speed Transmission – A groundbreaking drivetrain design that combined the advantages of a center differential with the flexibility and speed of a two-speed transmission.

THE DIRTY DOZEN

Only twelve Razorback chassis were produced, but those trucks left a lasting mark on monster truck racing. The owners raced them hard, pushed them to their limits, and brought home an impressive collection of wins and trophies.

Every truck earned its place in the Dirty Dozen, proving that the Razorback wasn’t just fast—it was durable enough to survive the punishment that comes with competitive racing.

AHEAD OF ITS TIME

The Razorback introduced ideas that were years ahead of what most racers were running at the time. The combination of big block power, a center differential, and a two-speed drivetrain created a package that delivered incredible acceleration, outstanding drivability, and exceptional durability.

Many of the lessons learned from the Razorback would influence Unlimited Engineering designs for years to come.

RACE PROVEN

The Razorback wasn’t built for shelf duty. It was built to race, built to win, and built to survive. Decades later it remains one of the most significant trucks ever produced by Unlimited Engineering.
