    R40 & understeer

Hey Aldo, finally got the R40 on a track.

Basicly a parking lot with small pipes staked down. Not a prepped surface.

Car was loose fast and on the edge of out of control w/o the body (foam tires.)

Put the viper bod on and it got very pushy when at speed or under power.

Took a little of the 'toe out' out, got a little better.

Tried switching to rubber tires - mistake, couldnt' hardly drive it.

Had to get back to working on SMs and that's as far as I got with the R40

What do I need to make it steer better?

I dont know much about the on-road stuff, but if you compare it to a 1:1 car, that sounds like a trac-bar adjustment (something in the rear end) I know there is no trac-bar, but maybe some adjustment in the position the rear shocks are in? I am not sure, just tossing a idea out there

I'm guessing Aldo's going to tell me that my new body should solve the problem

Robin, that new body will make the car stick to the ground.

What is the setup you have on that R40?

the viper is prolly the cause of the push. if it doesnt go away with the lola id try some different compound tires.

remember the r40 was designed around foam tires. i always found mine to be a little pushy. i just adapted to it instead of improving it with adjustments.lol.

maybe a little more front spring preload also.
