I think I found a dog bone that will work, just waiting for it now. Temp fixed my rear centre by jamming an old allen key in there and cutting/bending it. I absoultely love brushless, cant believe I switched over still. Once I get 3-4 packs I will be set because the run times are a little shorter than I would like

You charger experts, will a better charger- charge my battery faster. Right now on 4 amps or so its taking around 90 mins to charge the 5000 mah 4S 40C. If so any links would be helpful

if you are looking for a serious charger that will cut your charging time by more than half here is one but it will cost you $440.0 +/-
Competition Electronics Turbo 35 GFX Charger w/LiPo Update
it can do .2-20amps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if you lipo is 5000mah instead of charging it at 5 amps you can charge it at 10amps and cut your charging time in half. This really depends on the capablities and quality of the battery you bought. Not all lipos allow you to charge at 2x the amperage. So read the directions and see what it says.

I use the hyperion 615i dual for charging my heli batteries.

Hasnt been any activity in this thread in a while, Im itching to use my Mugen (only used it a few times all summer ). I was just curious as to if any of you guys know of any aftermarket or other RC manufacturer front or rear diffs that will fit the 6T. Just because on ebay they are like $~45 shipped each. I am just wanting to get it setup for winter running and lock either a front or rear diff and swap it out when I want to use it so its not locked permanently

    Thanks guys

That truck looks sick!!! I need one. I am still racing my old St-R no not the new st-rr but the original kyosho-crap truggy lol. Luckily for me i can finish within the top 5 everytime out of a field of 24 truggies. The wheelies this does is what keeps me from ever finishing top of the class. I think i will be buying one of these soon!!

I don't want o read the entire thread but what is the take on this trugy versus the 8T, or the AE??

    Resp---

Thanks--you know how that goes ask 10 people and get 10 differant answers! We run alot of mugens here against the others and they always seem to finish at top! This truck is solid and you really dont have to add anyting to it, build it--race it! Very stable and you just point and shoot with it..lol.

Yep--either the build it yourself X6T or the M-Spec 6T are ready out of the box--doesnt need any hop up to make it reliable--very stout machine

So how would the MBX6T hold up for a back yard basher? How pricey are they?

It'll take a beating from what I saw...my most durable truck to date for bashing was my ofna X1 CRT truggy.... hands down... but that was for me...

Moo would be a awesome backyard basher. Just works! Simple to work on it, plastic is the best in the bizz, etc. Though I don't bash anymore I have never replaced a ring/pinion on any Moo I have owned and some I have raced for upwards of 2 years replacing everything on them as whatever wears during that time except the ring/pinion.

Will the mbx5t front and rear ends bolt onto a mbx6t chassis? Im looking to run brushless and like the 6t chassis from techno better than the 5t chassis setup.. Just want something different..

Thankyou, does anyone have any brushless 5t pics. Im looking to convert to brushless to bash, racing days are over. Also since im totally new to brushless and lipos, what are good electronics for a backyard basher. Thanks

I personally like the castle creations motor/esc set ups but all of them are good I'm sure. The castle 2200 motor/esc combo would be good for bashing, imo. As far as lipos go, buy a couple of these and have fun...

I will check them out, thanks. You said that the 5t front and rear ends will not bolt onto the 6t chassis, are the bulkheads different? what all is different? I have a 5t prospect with 6t shocks and wanted to convert to a 6t chassis from Tekno RC. I know there are other things that I have to change. I just want to build something different with out having to buy a new 6t kit.

Mugen changed the diff cases/ring/pinion when they went to the MBX6 design among other things. Maybe you should just run a 5T conversion from Tekno. It would be your cheapest option....

It should just be 0814 which is both. I am fairly sure you can't buy them seperately like the parts page shows in the picture. Below the picture of the part on the parts page where part numbers are listed you will see it listed as 0814 without the a and b.

Is the kingzhead rear toe plate a must have option? I am completely tearing down my mugen right now so I want to order everything to make it bulletproof. Any other must have upgrades/options?

My mugen was making a terrible grinding noise so I tore it down, and the front differential pinion (bevel gear) and the 46t conical gear are right stripped, What would cause these 2 gears to strip? It seemed like it was shimmed properly but maybe not if it stripped?

Parts are like $57 to fix it, so I want to make sure it doesnt happen again, anyone ever had this happen?

I don't remotely follow any manufactures directions when it comes to shimming gears. I follow Robins. I shim both the carrier and pinion to the T. Then after one outing I pull it apart and re-check/re-shim since the housing is plastic and some flex/shifting can happen. I have never lost a Mugen diff. Just got to remember it is plastic and needs to be checked often. The cost of your repairs is more than what you are thinking. You also need to replace the diff case. All or nothing when it comes to the diffs. Loose the diff, replace everything to help ensure it doesn't happen again.
