    Big Toys

    Just bought this yesterday

High Output Diesel with 6 speed Manual Trans.

Four wheel disc brakes, Dana 70 axles.

Today I am putting 33" tires and Teflon rims on it.

I'm looking at the 2007 Dodge Nitro. Starting price of $24,500. Need to pay $1000 more on the old sunfire my g/f baught then it's trade in time.

    http://www.dodge.com/en/nitro/index.html

$30,000ish loaded the way I'd want.

Read one of the funniest (to me anyways) window stickers today about the Cummin's turbo diesel....any of you read, seen, heard it?? It's a put down to Ford's PowerStroke(in) diesel engine.

I was gonna post the pic of my old '98 Dodge bobtail I drove back in the day, that truck could tow anything. Nowadays we drive Ford F-350's up and down the flightline , IMO they lack the torque the Dodge trucks have...you feel the difference when your towing a 3 ton piece of equipment.

I just drove it up to the mountains and back a couple days ago. Up 6% grade in 6th gear and never had to down shift to pass. My brother calls it my new tractor. He's jealous cause my tractor smoked his Eclipse.

Yep, they are fast. They spool up quick and lay that power down. Ours only had a top speed of 40 ....but hey, when the max speed limit is 25...you're flying . One of the first things we did when we got the new Fords was have a little "drag race' against the Dodgey. Us drivers would get together on the not so visible side of the base and had it out. The Dodge won it every time.

Found an old pic, not of the entire truck though...this was my truck.

I like the color Vill. Nice to have the front end tow receiver.

I've got a front tow receiver so I can chuck in the portable Warn winch on front or back.

The Clutch was really sticky feeling so I pulled the tranny. The grease on the input shaft was all hardened up. I had to cut it off like plastic. The grease in little bearing on the end of the input shaft was toast too. Scrubbed it all up and put in a new Clutch and throw out bearing and input shaft bearing, it shifts real smooth now.

Those Dodge trucks are sure awesome, my boss has a 3500 that he has had for about 4 months. He dosent tow anything with it, just a daily driver and it still breaks down at least once a month. Its a very nice truck though.

I didn't like the new body style so I bought a low mileage 2001 with the High Output 6 speed. I haven't heard of many people having problems with the Cummins engines.

What year did your Boss have re270?

He has a 2003 but all of his problems stem from all the mods he did to it. Its a 4 wheel drive 4 door dually with a 6" lift and eighteen wheeler tires under it and he has some kind of $6,000 souped up transmission that just about gives you whiplash every time it changes gears. He also has all the aftermarket intake and exhaust along with the chip and all that other rich guy stuff. I will post a pic of it when he gets back from Kansas, it is pretty cool.
