    From Kyosho:

And this is what OPS sent me:

Will start break in of my OPS engine this Sunday in my nephews TTR. Will show more detialed pics of the OPS Engine and Pipe, and SP2 later on this weekend. Have to do a MAJOR overhaul in the work area first before any RC building happens. Thats what I'll be doing Saturday

Yes, all engines need to come apart for cleaning before firing up, so one less thing to do. By the way, will have to get a pic of the top of this engine head, looks KILLER

    Rich PM back at ya..

What I meant was the OPS running cooler. Glenn Roberson had one and that thing ran like a raped ape at 190. However we found out the bottom end was so lean that every time he would take a jump it would flip out...man it was fast, not sure how hot it was considering relative temp. Temp didn't really seem to react to needle changes, no real temp difference from day to day even w/ whack needle adjustments. It was like 28 degrees inside building w/ wind chill. Even before he leaned the the low end wayyy out, that motor was a rocketship. I drove it for 5 minutes and it was like an 8.5 on power, but like a 4 on driveability. We took some spacers out of the pipe and it seemed to help, but still hard to fully judge w/o owning one and getting some serious drive time on it.

I guess my motor tuning philosophy lately has been more towards the driveability side. I am not sure I will ever put a .28 in my CRT. Every one I drove was kind of a handful. Doesn't make sense to me why you would buy a motor that was harder to drive, w/ just a little more power. I get almost -9 minutes on a tank (Savage), and I have enough power to keep up. I don't have the explosiveness, but I pulled on a few .28s last weekend w/ my EB P5. I didn't even get it over 215 degrees. I am sure its not tuned to perfection and I run carbons w/ 1.0s. I bet I could get even more power w/ the 1005 rather than the JP2. I think I would be happier w/ a motor that is 9 on driveability and 6 on power. Granted this is if the motor isn't a dog on the low end and actually wraps out. I don't know..just the way I have been feeling. I backed the slipper on my Predator wayy the funk off and ran the smallest clutch springs I could find...is so much easier than running it locked down and clutched to the nutz.

Just my .02... I am excited to see Rich's Kyosho in Action..

Are they basically like Novarossi p5 kind of performance? What kind of motor they compare to?

When I used to be in Paris, I think OPS is what most people used to run. They are like French-Novarossi engine or something. I cant remember.

Rich's weren't free either. There are many levels of sponsorship, 50% off and full, etc. and Rich got the partial. Still better than 0% sponsorship, right?

Either way, Rich will be pimpin' soon enough!

Will definitely post the build pics. Was just looking at the kit last night and everything looks well made. Plastics look nicely finished. Was going to get Mike Czech to paint me my bodies becuase I'm soo freakin busy at work but Mike said its a 2-3 month wait so looks like I'll have to "find" some time to paint some killer bodies. The paint schemes will be pimping thou Like Stephen said, I'm not 100% sponsored, very few are. I am MORE Than happy with the deal Kyosho gave me and am VERY grateful And yes, decals, shirts and etc were free That big sticker is pimping, trying to figure out where to put it for the most exposure???

OPS is Italian made. The power of the OPS I hear is more like a V-Spec but supposedly with more bottom end and smooth power delivery??? We'll see? I start break in this Sunday in my nephews TTR

Thanks guys for all the kind words, can't wait!

Thanks Tom. I'll hit him up with what I was thinking and see if he thinks he can do the design I'm after. I'll email him this weekend some time. Does he supply the bodies if customers want that?

I love the way the OPS head looks from the TOP, very trick looking

A little comparison of the OPS to my Novarossi 3 Port engine. OPS head WAY smaller in diameter and also shorter in height. Equals mucho reduced centre of gravity and overall weight. Me likes already!
